Spice launches Android-Gingerbread Mi-280 phone

Focusing on the value conscious and tech savvy youth, Spice Group has announced the availability of Android-Gingerbread Mi-280 phone through Saholic.com, an online portal for genuine mobiles, tablets, laptops and accessories.

Powered by Android gingerbread and dual SIM option, customers can purchase this feature phone exclusively on Saholic.com for just Rs 5,123, said a press release.

Exclusively for Saholic.com customers, also available is a facility to pay for this product in easy instalments spread over 3 months. Customers can choose from a variety of convenient online payment options like Credit Card, Net Banking or Cash on Delivery.

The phone is a dual-SIM Android Gingerbread phone with 2.8 inch capacitive touchscreen and supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB connectivity.

The release further added that, the phone comes with 3.2 main camera and VGA front camera for video calling.

Lava to launch 2 models in 2012


As the Smartphone market hots up, the Indian mobile device major, Lavasaid that it will come up with two new feature-rich models during the first half of 2012. Said that they are planning to introduce two new smartphones next year. “These devices will be powered with 1.5Ghz chipsets,”The company is contemplating a price of $100 and $500 respectively for new smartphone devices, Lava didn’t reveal the exact pricing and timeline though but said that both new models will be announced early next year.Lava is currently carrying out R&D activities for its smartphone segment. "We are working on software development, 3G and Android in our Bangalore facility," the company said..

Samsung plans more . . . . . . . . .

The company projects that it will move 374 million cellphones next year, 49 million more than its projections for 2011.The report says that 150 million of those 374 million handsets will be smartphones. Unfortunately, since Samsung no longer reports actual numbers of devices shipped each quarter, it will be very difficult to tell how many smartphones and cellphones it does actually sell in 2012. Analysts determined that Samsung edged out Apple to become the number one smartphone maker in the world in the third quarter of this year, but many expect Apple to reclaim its title in the fourth quarter.

MAXX Mobiles has become the latest entrant in the market with its first ever touch screen phone with a built-in projector, Focus MTP9 . Sporting a 2.8 " touch screen with a 5 MP camera, this dual-SIM phone features a projector lens at the top with an adjustable focus ring at the back.  It claims to be capable of projecting on a 42 screen for 3 hours. The good and very important thing is that the company is bundling a free stand to mount the phone while it is projecting your movie. The phone is powered by a 208 MHz processor and the King Movie Player, which claims to compress the video to a tenth of its actual size without compromising on quality. A loudspeaker is present at the back to play the audio aloud. You can thus enjoy full length movies stored on the 1 GB flash inbuilt memory. You can store additional movies on the free 4 GB microSD card bundled along. It also supports the MP4 and 3GPP formats. In addition to the above, this Java- enabled phone can use the multitude of J2ME apps available on the web to improve its functionality and usability. It comes with a variety of built-in apps including Opera Mini, Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo! Launcher, Nimbuzz, and more. With support for widgets, it has four active screens with live wallpapers to help avoid a cluttered window. Multimedia functionality includes an FM radio with scheduling and support for various audio formats. A 1200 battery claims to provide it with a longer battery backup.
